Curtis Clark took the minutes. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Opens: - None. ------------- Review of ARs: - None. -------------------------- Call for patent disclosure: - None. ------------------------- Review of Meeting Minutes: Arpad asked for any comments or corrections to the minutes of the July 6th meeting. Randy moved to approve the minutes. Ambrish seconded the motion. There were no objections. ------------- New Discussion: BIRD211.3 draft1: The group continued reviewing Ambrish's comments on BIRD211.2 and addressing them in Fangyi's BIRD211.3 draft 1. Page numbers for Ambrish's comments are for BIRD211.2: page 6: Ambrish asked why this sentence is necessary: "By setting Tx_Impulse_Input to "Upstream", the model maker is declaring that the Tx initialization (AMI_Init) function does not have the ability to adapt itself based on the downstream channel." Fangyi said it's just a clarifying statement, and we can revisit it. page 7: Ambrish noted that "unit impulse response" is used before it is defined. It was defined later in the normal flow section, so Fangyi moved the definition of unit impulse response up to accompany the first place the term is used. Per suggestions from Arpad and Randy, the definition itself was edited for clarity. page 8: Ambrish's comment about the "optional" step had already been addressed by rewriting the flows to break out the statistical and time domain flows separately. Ambrish said his "Unclear" comment on page 8 had also been addressed by the rewrite. page 9: Ambrish said his comments about 6b. and 7. in the normal flow had already been addressed. page 10: Ambrish noted that the sentence preceding Figure 41 said "time domain simulation flow", but both the statistical and time domain flows are described. Arpad, Ambrish and Fangyi said the diagram is really for the physical system. Arpad suggested we rewrite the sentence as: "The physical layout of a repeater link is illustrated in Figure 41." Bob also suggested we enumerate (Redriver, Retimer) after the word repeater, since the subsequent sections are broken out separately for Redrivers and Retimers. Fangyi incorporated Arpad's and Bob's suggestions. page 11: In step 5d. of the Retimer flow, Ambrish asked about "column 1 of impulse matrix shall contain a unit impulse" for the Tx2 "Upstream" case. Fangyi said this was correct for a Retimer. For clarity, in earlier text for the Usage Rules for Tx_Impulse_Input, sentences that stated that the upstream IR for a terminal Tx is a unit impulse were modified to say, "terminal Tx or Retimer Tx". Ambrish noted that there were several instances of a typo in which "expected" should be replaced with "executed". Fangyi made the changes. Bob then offered several comments. He said it was incorrect to say: "If Tx_Impulse_Input is not present, its value is..." Bob suggested: "If Tx_Impulse_Input is not present, the default shall be Downstream". Bob noted several instances of 3.abc that should be 3abc. and one instance of 3.d that should be 3d. Arpad asked Fangyi to send this new version to ATM for one final review next week. - Ambrish: Motion to adjourn. - Curtis: Second. - Arpad: Thank you all for joining. AR: Fangyi to send BIRD211.3 draft 2 to ATM for final review. ------------- Next meeting: 20 July 2021 12:00pm PT ------------- IBIS Interconnect SPICE Wish List: 1) Simulator directives
